PDX initial setup

PDX files contain all information necessary to establish the connection to a partner. In addition, further optional information about the connection and the sender/creator of the PDX file may be included. To be able to use the PDX functions of !MC5 to the full extent, !MC5 must be set up for this purpose. To do this, proceed as follows:

1 Open the Settings / OFTP2 / Station information page. If you display the station information for the first time, it will be prefilled with information from the software registration and a corresponding message will be displayed.

2 Complete and/or replace at least the fields marked with * in the station information: Host Name, Station Name, Company Name, and Exhibitor ID. The host name is the name under which your !MC5 can be reached via the Internet, for example oftp2.bartschsoft.com. The station name can be freely selected; if using a single station, the company name is recommended here. The issuer ID is generally the Odette identifier (SSID) of the "issuer" of a PDX file. All contacts must have at least one name specified. Any number of contacts, including no contacts, can be specified.

3 Apply the changes by clicking Save changes and switch to the Settings / OFTP2 / PDX page.

4 Here you can adjust the requirements for the use of various OFTP2 functions. These defaults are only taken into account when PDX files are used. When importing a PDX file manually, warnings are displayed if the settings required by the other side do not match your own preferences. When importing automatically, files with settings that do not match are rejected. Preferences are also used when sending and exporting PDX files. The preferences are preset in such a way that !MC5 adapts to all requirements of a partner.

5 If you have made changes to the preferences, save them again with a click also Save changes. You can now import and export PDX files with !MC5.
