You have successfully created a certificate request and now want to send it to your certification authority. The procedure for this will be different for different certification authorities. At this point, the process is illustrated using the example of a certificate request for OFTP2 and the certification authority"OdetteSecure".
In order to submit the application to your certification authority, as in this example, you need a browser set up at your workstation and access to the Internet.
In the summary dialog you will find the data you need to submit the request. This dialog opens automatically directly after the creation of a certificate request. If you do not want to submit the request at this time, then you can open this dialog via the list of certificates and certificate requests. To do this, select the certificate request and click on the pen symbol. Alternatively, you can also open the dialog by double-clicking on the desired request.
If you have not yet created any references to the certificate request, please continue in chapter Set up certificate request for other Modules or Add-Ons.
1 If you come directly from the certificate request creation, the Data and link tab is displayed immediately. If you have opened this dialog at a later time by clicking in one of the lists of certificates and certificate requests, the Summary tab is displayed first. In this case, click on the Data and Link tab first.
The Summary of certificate request is a window with three tabs:
•Summary: All data of the certification request are displayed here (Common Name, Organisation, length of the public key, etc.).
•Data and Link: This tab shows the certificate request in a common format for submission and a link to the certification authority.
•Usages: Here you can view and customize the usages. However, they are not part of the request you send to the certification authority.
2 Click on Copy request to clipboard and then on the link www.odettesecure.com. The application data is now on the clipboard and your browser opens and navigates to the desired link. Enter your access data here and follow the instructions on the following pages.
