Set up certificate request for other Modules or Add-Ons

You have created a certificate request for an OFTP2 certificate, as in our example, and now want to use it for other Modules and Add-Ons as well. To do this, add a reference to this certificate request to the list of certificates and certificate requests of the desired module. You can recognize references to certificate requests by the blue font colour.

References on certificate requests

The certificate request is stored only once in the database. If the final certificate is to be used with multiple Modules and Add-Ons, this is done via the references that can be stored in the certificate lists of the respective Modules and Add-Ons ( e.g. OFTP2, AS2, HTTP client ).

The following shows how to set up a reference to the certificate request created in the example for OFTP2 for AS2 as well.

1 In the settings, navigate to the entry Settings / AS2. There you will see the box Certificates on the right side. Click with the left mouse button on the plus symbol at the right edge to open the certificate wizard.

5 In this step, you customize the usages for this certificate. However, the options available for selection may differ in the specific case. However, you can still correct these specifications at a later time. This is possible even if you have already imported the final certificate..

Finish the reference by clicking Finish.

6 You will now see the reference to the certificate request in blue font already in the list of certificates. Please note that this change must still be finally saved. !MC5 signals this by the now yellow background in the title. The program will prompt you to agree to the save at an appropriate time.

7 If you leave this area, for example by selecting another entry in the navigation tree, you still have to agree to the changes made. As soon as you have agreed to the saving with Yes, the reference is saved in the !MC5 database and the creation of a reference is finished.
