Add-On Client/Server

The Add-On Client/Server is a powerful extension that allows sending and receiving data via !MC5 from any workstation in the local network. It is controlled by a dedicated client software. There is no user limit for this and it can be installed on any number of workstations in your network. Employees can use the client software to connect to !MC5 and create send jobs or download received files.

The Add-Ons Client/Server and HTTP-Client extend !MC5 with a user control. This allows to create users and groups and to define different rights. For example, you can restrict which partners are visible to a user, which status messages are displayed to the user in the client or whether users of a group are allowed to delete received files or not.

If the Add-Ons ENGDAT and ENGPART are licensed, their functions are also available in the client software.

Features

The client software is downloaded to your system by the automatic update function of !MC5. After the download, it can be installed on an unlimited number of workstations with a simple setup. Configuration for use is straightforward, with only a few basic settings such as username and password to be made. This makes it easy to integrate and use the software across the network.

Dispatch jobs can be initiated to any partner visible to the logged-in user from any workstation. Each user can view the shipment backlog for jobs he or she has initiated. In addition, there is the option to download received files directly via the client. The actual data transfer with the partner is done centrally via !MC5.

If the Add-Ons ENGDAT and ENGPART are licensed, their functions are also available at the individual client workstations. This gives users access to the extended features and allows them to take advantage of the ENGDAT and ENGPART functionality directly from their own workstations.

The connection between client and !MC5 is done via unencrypted TCP/IP. The Add-On Client/Server is designed for internal network use only.
