Migrating Odette MC / Odette 95

Remote control by means of files

Remote control using control files (~start.job, ~delay.job, etc.), as was possible in the previous Odette MC / 95 versions, is no longer supported by !MC5. For the automatic sending of files use the automation. For step-by-step instructions on how to set up sending rules, see Sending Files Directly.

Sending files directly in !MC5 ignores all files that match the "~*.job" schema, including all old control files.

For easier migration to !MC5, switch to automatic file dispatch in Odette MC.

If you are still using control files in Odette MC, you should first switch to automatic file sending in Odette MC before migrating to !MC5. This can be found in Odette MC under Options / Odette MC / Auto send. When importing the settings into !MC5, the autosend rules are then applied. Please note that autosend rules must not work directly on the source directory of a partner. Files to be sent may therefore no longer be placed directly in the source directory of the respective partner. Instead, you can, for example, create a subdirectory Autosend in the outbound directory of the partner, from which all files are then sent using an autosend rule with the file mask *. The upstream system must be adapted accordingly and files must be stored in this subdirectory instead of directly in the outbound directory.
