All processes in !MC5, from receiving and sending data to messages from modules, such as import, export or conversion of EDI messages, are logged in detail. An overview of the latest events can be found in the main window on the Status page. The main log, the file MC-Protocol.txt in the Log subdirectory of the !MC5 data directory, can be opened and searched with any text editor. It is more convenient to browse the log with the !MC5 log evaluation.
The log evaluation loads any !MC5 log files, also packed log files from the backup directory. There are two areas in the main window of the log evaluation: The left tree view displays all data transfers, data processing and other operations from the loaded logs, sorted by time and date. The display can be restricted to processes concerning a specific partner, and it is possible to search specifically for file names or process IDs. For a single operation, a detailed processing log can be printed or saved as a text file.
The log evaluation can be started among other things via Display / Log evaluation in the main menu of !MC5.
