New features in version 5.6

The following is a list of new features and significant changes in !MC5 version 5.6.x with references to corresponding manual entries where available. The complete list of changes in all versions can be found in !MC5 via the menu item Help / Check for Updates.

Version 5.6.14

Extensive revision of the HTTP Client. The web interface has been modernized and the HTTP client now also offers access to the EDI Inbox and Outbox, the job list and has been expanded to include a dashboard showing the system status.

Version 5.6.11

Backups of EDI message archives are now always created and there is no longer a limit on the maximum number of backups. This change prevents an unfavorable configuration of the archive backups, as was previously possible, from preventing access to older EDI messages and thus making it more difficult to easily check EDI data and its processing status. Adjustments to the size limits of the archives can now be made via the General EDI settings.

Version 5.6.8

Simplified setting of the ciphersuites used for secure TLS connections by setting one of four security levels (High, Standard, Compatible and Insecure) for AS2 and OFTP2. The default setting for the security level is Standard, which offers a balanced combination of the highest possible security and compatibility with most other AS2 and OFTP2 applications. The exact list of supported ciphersuites can now be viewed directly in the program, for example to communicate them to a partner.

Logging of received and sent ciphersuites with activated connection debugging for AS2 and OFTP2 enables easier analysis in the event of connection problems.

Version 5.6.6

The FTP Client module is now called FTP/S Client and supports both unencrypted FTP connections and encrypted FTPS connections via TLS 1.0 to 1.3.

Version 5.6.5

The own Odette ID (also OFTP ID or SSID) is now no longer specified during online registration, but in the OFTP settings under Settings / OFTP/OFTP2. Here it can also be adjusted at any time.

For moving an existing installation to a new system, the new migration tool of !MC5 can now be used. To do this, start the migration on the existing system, install !MC5 on the new system as usual and import the previously created backup (or any other !MC5 backup) directly during registration.

Version 5.6.0

Full support for (automatic) exchange of partner data via Partner Data Exchange (PDX), certified by Odette International. PDX files can be imported manually, exported as a file for sending to a new partner, and sent and received via OFTP. Settings received via PDX through OFTP are applied directly to all partners concerned, provided they match your own preferences. After sending PDX files via OFTP, the requested settings are also automatically adjusted for the partners concerned in the event of a positive response (EERP).

The Windows Service can now optionally log important events in the Windows event log. This can be used for evaluation by third-party monitoring software, for example.

Partner groups are now called SSID groups and are only available for OFTP partners. The new name is to better clarify that the groups should only be used to group partners with identical SSID. The functionality has not changed.

Deactivated partners are automatically grouped in a separate node in partner management.
