The EDI module enables the automatic processing of received EDI messages. The processing takes place in several steps: If EDI processing is activated for a partner (see Set up a partner for EDI processing), then matching files received are checked for EDI messages contained. If a (licensed) EDI message is found, it is transferred to the inbox of the EDI module.
In the next step, the EDI messages entered in this way can be printed if this is activated in the settings for the corresponding message type (see Reference / Settings / EDI / Message Types).
In addition, one or more export rules can be created to export the received data. For example, a received message can be converted into another format that can be read by your ERP. Or a copy of the received message can be stored in any directory for additional archiving.
